This month at Organized A to Z.com, we are focusing on organizing products and tips to help you stay healthy, wealthy, and happy!

Now that summer is here, many of you are no doubt trying to find time to spend together as a family. If you have kids, your summer is probably packed full of ballgames, swimming, trips to the park, scouting activities, and many other fun activities. You may be planning family reunions, summer vacations, and annual picnics as well.

With all of this going on, plus your usual everyday responsibilities, you really need to be on top of things. If you don’t already have one, now would be a great time to start a family calendar and find a good scheduling system that works for you. Some things you can try:

  • Your typical calendar – Designate one calendar for all activities and always keep it in the same place. Spend a few minutes to write down recurring activities and then add new events as you need. Having everyone’s activities in one place will help you organize your trips and plan your day.
  • Dry erase calendar – Perfect for families who have constantly changing schedules! Assign a different color to each family member or activity category. You can quickly add events when new activities pop up, and also easily erase activities that change or get canceled. By putting everyone’s schedule on one board that the whole family can see, you will easily identify conflicts and priorities, not to mention remember where you’re supposed to be when!
  • Planners – Paper planners and organizers are great for people who are always on the go. Choose one that is lightweight and easy to carry so you can easily take it everywhere! They provide a handy reference when you are trying to schedule appointments and coordinate activities with other families.
  • An electronic organizer or PDA – If you’re into technology, keep track of upcoming events electronically. This method makes it a snap to schedule recurring events and appointments, and you can even set up reminders for things that you just can’t miss.

Organized A to Z has some great products to help you organize your schedule for a happier summer! Be sure to visit our Planners and Organizers page to find something that fits your family’s needs.
